Breakfast
Fred gave me this juice and said just sip it. Then he said “I get an 8MPH boost from one of those cans”. I got the nanner from the SAG van.Later in the morning we rode to a cafe and some of the other riders were there already and some locals too. The one server was swamped and I sat for 25 minutes without even getting a hello. I gave up and went out to my bike and made pb and j on flower tortillas. I forget what I had for dinner, probably pasta.

In crossing barren parts of Texas like that, would it not make sense to travel, in the cool of the night, and use night-vision goggles, to ‘illuminate’ your journey? What’s your car-count in places like that? Is it like 2-3/hour? Or more like 3-4/by mid-day…. Just curious. Place seems incredibly desolate to me…. Time for reflection? Introspection?
What’s the night sky look like, out there? Can your camera pick it up? {You sure find out about your friends, and associates, on a trip like this, don’t you..}.
Cheers,
Stay safe…

I’m assuming that you’ve ‘cleared’ Marfa, by now. Any comments? Impressions? Looking forward to ‘terrain’ pics. Following other postings as well. Sounds like ‘the crew’ is having a great time! Hang in there! You are accomplishing much!

Haven’t seen any current posting. Hope all is okay. FYI: Site of James Dean Memorial is CA Hwy 41, Cholane-Shandon, CA. CA Highway 41, between Fresno and Paso Robles. Opposite the post office, on the north side of the highway, east of Maggies Cafe. I’m assuming you are in the ‘hinterlands. Any advice for others, who might wish to venture such a trip?
Take care. Don’t kill yourselves!
Cheers,
John.
