BFF 2010 10th Anniversary alleycat Race Against Time from crihs on Vimeo.
Good race! Not as many alleycats this year as when I first moved to NYC, seems like styling and polo have gained some of that popularity. But this race did have a good turn out. The BFF does attract some people. Anyway, I [...]

I came back from Wisconsin with a prototype of the Milwaukee Bicycle Co. new MKE Polo Fork. I finally installed it with some help from Affinity Cycles.
I added a big free wheel for the photos but for game play it will not be there. Instead I’ll be running the front without any cog or freewheel [...]

The Ladies of NYC Bike Polo
July 21st 2010
By Emily Anne Epstein
What do you get when women, homemade mallets, beat-up bicycles and a ball collide? Bike polo, of course!
Closer to street hockey than pony polo, the game is played three-on-three until one team nets five goals. The hardcourt sport has been growing in popularity since [...]

Milwaukee Bicycle Co. and I made a new fork for bike polo. Thanks Drew! This is just a sneak-peek. Keep an eye on Ben’s Cycle for more details soon.

Sara D. Roosevelt Park on the Lower East Side has an odd, all-purpose play space at the center. It’s a sunken concrete shell, with markings at mid-court, metal railings, and benches along the tops of its shoulder-height [...]

I guess now I’m an “alterna-sport junkie” and a “good bike-poloer”. Doesn’t matter, bike polo is still fun. Come join us, play a game!

32h RADIAL front wheel for polo play????
are you playing polo on these? Why the radial lacing in the front?
very nice, how you like them so far?
with rims that deep, I don’t think the fact that they’re radially laced is going to matter much.

Radially laced front wheels are plenty strong. Only consideration would be hub flange strength. If they are cold forged (like Shimano) they can often handle it. Hub warranties most always indicate if radial lacing will void the warranty or not.

bk brake?

Yeah, this is the Gangsta Polo. The one big difference from the Gangsta Track is a seat stay bridge w/ brake mount.

how are these rims holding up with the brake?
