Milwaukee Bicycle Company Bruiser Raffle

$5 could win you a new MKE Bruiser Frame and Fork.

We are proud to announce that we are currently raffling off a brand new MKE Bruiser Frame and Fork.

The size is a medium so with the right set up could fit nearly anyone large or small. The lucky winner will be pulled at our holiday fundraiser which will be held in early December.

The $ raised from this raffle will go directly to the club in order to pay insurance, maintain our facilities, and potentially cover some rent for a winter indoor facility.

2011 London Open Bike Polo Tournament

London Open
Bike Polo Tournament
July 30th – 31st, 2011
London, UK

From what I gather this is an old format 3vs3 style tournament, £30 per team, 3 courts, unlimited teams can enter, Swiss rounds then finishing with double elimination brackets. Great flier.

2011 Australasian Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships

Australasian Hardcourt Bike Polo Championships
May 7th – 8th, 2011
Adelaide, Australia

I like that in Australia they have it together enough to just make a yearly distinction versus doing the first, second, ect. for their Championships. That’s pro.

BICYCLE FILM FESTIVAL: CALL FOR ENTRIES

Submission Deadline: April 1

http://www.bicyclefilmfestival.com

Submissions are now open for the  Eleventh Annual Bicycle Film
Festival! The BFF is looking for films with a bike-related theme. Any
style is acceptable: animation, experimental, narrative, documentary
and music videos are all a go.

There is no fee to enter your film, simply download a submission form
from the BFF website, and send a copy of the film to the BFF Head
Office in New York.

The Bicycle Film Festival began in 2001 when Brendt Barbur, founding
director of the festival was hit by a bus while riding his bike in New
York City. He insisted on turning his negative experience into a
positive one.  The Bicycle Film Festival is a platform to celebrate
the bicycle through music, art and, of course, film.

The BFF travels to over 25 cities around the world, including Paris,
London, Tokyo, New York — and Sydney. Last year, more than 225,000
people attended the festival. The BFF is not only a showcase for new
films, but also, includes rock shows, street parties, art shows,
dinners, bike rides and more!

The BFF over the past ten years is proud to be a platform for exposure
for many independent filmmakers and artists, and to show a range of
emerging filmmakers to established artists, including Albert Maysles,
Spike Jonze, Mike Mills, The Neistat Brothers, Michel Gondry, and Tom
Sachs.

The 2011 submission deadline is April 1.  Any inquiries please email

Wheel cover video contest

Jinxy asked me to post this. Check out their site for some bike polo wheel covers from the past that are pretty good looking. As for the contest, all you need to know is “The drunker, the better” and  “Please keep your video to 30-45 seconds”.
