Past Races and Other Events
Seen this in a wine shop window the last day I was messengering in the city. I hear prince William is playing again so the crowds will be nuts. Free to the public, and there is the private party for the snotty sort. Take a bike and you get a jump to the front of the ferry line, just a tip. But I know not many bike polo players will hit this up because ESPI5 is going on at the same time. Otherwise watching horse polo is really fun. It puts our version into a new perspective. Check it out if you have the chance.

Since 1998, New York City bike messengers have raised food for their city’s homeless the week before Thanksgiving. Like any other race, Cranksgiving tests your skills and speed navigating chaotic city traffic. However, unlike any other race, it tests the sharpness of your wits as you navigate the aisles of grocery stores searching for specific food items. Once you’ve found them, made your way through the checkout lines and finished the race, all of your food will be donated to a local homeless shelter.

WNW is a pop-up installation within Trackstar that works as a companion to the STAGES show. Open Weds – Saturday, 10/22-11/22, WNW is all dedicated to cycling and art in New York. It’s a place for the community to get a sense of what LIVESTRONG and the Lance Armstrong Foundation are about and to connect with people who are stoked on cycling and art.
They will be serving free coffee and donuts every morning for riders headed to work, offering free flat fixes and teaching classes on bike stuff like wheel building and headset installation. There will be weekly rides visiting all five boroughs of the city that will leave from WNW. The London to Paris film will also be screened here.
