Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic
June 5th, 2011
Governors Island, New York
Last year this was the same weekend as ESPI5 so I missed it but I was at the first year and second. I highly recommended making it to this because watching polo in New York City is not very common. The 2008 event was the first in 70 years and there was only about 150 people there. The 2009 event was the second match and about 10,000 people were in attendance because of some prince from some other country was here playing. From what I heard last years event was about the same. That means get there early. Or just skip the crowds.

The Four Horsemen II
March 5th, 2011 2PM
110th Street and 5th Avenue, NYC
Good race! Not as many alleycats this year as when I first moved to NYC, seems like styling and polo have gained some of that popularity. But this race did have a good turn out. The BFF does attract some people. Anyway, I got 5th, again. I’m cool with that because top 10 get into the BFF messenger shorts program free. And they do prizes on stage before the show. I got made fun of because I borrowed a nice road bike from an old sponsor, Brad Baker, and didn’t win. And some because I had Crihs and JT believing I was going to run a completely alternate route, but that was not the case. We all took the same route, give or take some turns.
Thanks for the edit Crihs!

I spotted this as I was working, it’s too bad it’s the day after Bike The Barns in Madison, WI because I think I’m gonna be in Madison again. But even if I was in NYC on the 12th, I doubt I’d wake up and be at 110th Street by the 5:30am start time.

Not sure how many checkpoints on the way down but you know the drill. Ride from the very top of B’way all the way down to the Bull.
